Remuera Library is a notable landmark on a prominent corner in central Auckland. The Neo-Georgian building was built in 1926and is a Heritage New Zealand Category 1 listed building.
The building was identified as earthquake-prone, with a seismic score of 15% New Building Standard (NBS). Argon is carrying out work to strengthen the building to 67% NBS.
Argon is also undertaking some restoration and remedial works to ensure the building can be used and enjoyed well into the future.
The building is expected to reopen for public use in mid-2025.
