About Argon
Argon has delivered a wide range of successful projects around New Zealand – from luxury resorts and sports stadiums to hospitals, courthouses and schools.
We thrive on a challenge, and have carried out sensitive heritage restoration work, seismic strengthening projects and built complex radiation bunkers for cancer treatment.
Our head office is based in East Tamāki, Auckland, with satellite offices set up at our projects around the country. We’ve completed projects from Northland to Southland, and many places in between.
On all our projects, Argon strives to support local regional economies – selecting subcontractors, suppliers and labour from the communities we’re working in.
We are committed to growing the skill and talent of New Zealand’s construction industry. Argon offers learning and support opportunities across a range of related professions – including carpentry apprenticeships and practical training for project managers, quantity surveyors, engineers and architects.
Argon People
Argon is a tight-knit team of people who genuinely enjoy working together to deliver high-quality outcomes on all our projects. Many of our team members have been with Argon for a long time – more than 30 years in some cases – and we have very low turnover rates.
Our Principal, Tom Cashen, stood down as Managing Director in 2023, but continues to work as a consultant and advisor on our major projects.
Our experienced team members have a range of skills, from carpentry to project management, engineering, architectural design and quantity surveying.

Health & Safety
Argon is dedicated to creating, planning, and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for all employees, subcontractors, and visitors, ensuring everyone returns home safely each day.
Certified by Tōtika and a founding member of Site Safe New Zealand, Argon Constructors operates a documented Health & Safety Management System in alignment with current legislation and industry best practice. Our systems and policies are regularly reviewed and updated to remain comprehensive and compliant.
We work with external health and safety advisors Construct Health Ltd to develop and maintain our health and safety management procedures. They conduct fortnightly audits of all our sites to ensure compliance with our health and safety management plans. These audits foster a culture of safety throughout our team, as all sites strive to achieve the highest audit scores. We have an excellent health and safety record, with very low rates of incidents and injuries.
